thoughts and photos from April

I'm thinking of doing this to the yard....

hard to believe this is a real photo

this is a view of Protection Island, off the coast of Port Townsend
where we lived for many years

now for the political ones

and on religion

and social media

this is just amazing

I didn't know that's where babies come from

wow - what a seed

the very special art show

my granddaughter's art was chosen out of 700 kids
in her school to be part of a county wide art show

the show featured 5 or 6 kids from each elementary school in Charlotte County

the artist

her art

another picture from her school
was a friend's from the same class

we walked around and looked at all the art

it was pretty impressive

often there seemed to be a specific assignment

and everyone did their version of it

or like this one, there were several that were almost exactly the same

there was a ceramic section

very cool, huh?

one school made cards

this I think was done by a kindergartner

I especially loved the bugs

and the dragons

there were so much interesting and cute art

I thought this one was very powerful
it was one that was not a class project, but like
my granddaughter's, what they wanted to draw

after the show we went out to lunch at the Crab House
they have brown paper on the tables and you are expected to draw

we did pretty good with only 4 colors

after dinner was an overnight at grandma's and grandpa's

with a lively game of dominoes

it was a good day

peace

family day

we have been trying to make sure at least one day a week
we do something fun and have a meal together

last week-end we walked down to Lemon Bay

it is about a 5 block walk from the house

my gorgeous daughter

can you tell how windy it was
still - the sun was shinning.....

the park is called

as there is a huge shell midden that forms part of the park
dating back to 1,000 years BC

that point into the bay is the park
the midden is where the trees are now
the actual spit was added when they dredged the bay for the intercoastal waterway
you can see it as a dark strip on the left of the map

there is a nice beach on  two sides

mud cookies were made with sea shell sprinkles
we ate them so fast we did not get any photos

then on to discover the huge old trees

and climb they did

a couple  more years Mr. A and you will be right up there too
