a good idea from Warren Buffet

Warren Buffett, in a recent interview with CNBC, offers one of the
best quotes about the debt ceiling:

"I could end the deficit in 5 minutes," he told CNBC. "You just
pass a law that says that anytime there is a deficit of more

than 3% of GDP, all sitting members of Congress are ineligible
for re-election".

The 26th amendment (granting the right to vote for 18 year-olds)
took only 3 months & 8 days to be ratified! Why? Simple!

The people demanded it. That was in 1971 - before computers, e-mail,

cell phones, etc.

Of the 27 amendments to the Constitution, seven (7) took one (1) year
or less to become the law of the land - all because of public pressure.

Warren Buffet is asking each addressee to forward this email to
a minimum of twenty people on their address list; in turn ask
each of those to do likewise.  You can copy and paste this into an e-mail message.

In three days, most people in The United States of America will
have the message. This is one idea that really should be passed
around.

_*Congressional Reform Act of 2011*_

1. No Tenure / No Pension.

A Congressman/woman collects a salary while in office and receives no
pay when they're out of office.

2. Congress (past, present & future) participates in Social
Security.

All funds in the Congressional retirement fund move to the
Social Security system immediately. All future funds flow into
the Social Security system, and Congress participates with the
American people. It may not be used for any other purpose.

3. Congress can purchase their own retirement plan, just as all
Americans do.

4. Congress will no longer vote themselves a pay raise.
Congressional pay will rise by the lower of CPI or 3%.

5. Congress loses their current health care system and
participates in the same health care system as the American people.

6. Congress must equally abide by all laws they impose on the
American people.

7. All contracts with past and present Congressmen/women are void
effective 1/1/12. The American people did not make this
contract with Congressmen/women.

Congressmen/women made all these contracts for themselves. Serving in
Congress is an honor, not a career. The Founding Fathers
envisioned citizen legislators, so ours should serve their
term(s), then go home and back to work.

If each person contacts a minimum of twenty people then it will
only take three days for most people (in the U.S.) to receive
the message. Don't you think it's time?

meet Lucy Bella!!

here she is about half hour after she was born

she was peacefully sleeping until the midwife wanted to check her

I just missed her birth (don't ask)

but I was there with in minutes and here we are getting acquainted

she is only a couple hours old

her big sister was pretty proud too

first day

day 2 grandma is so in love

Beth did such a good job, look how adorable that baby is

she makes funny faces

sleeps the sleep only the newborn can

she is flirting with her mom

day 3 on the planet

she is definitely checking it out

I was holding her outside today for a few minutes in the sun,

the doctor said it was good for her

she had her eyes closed until she heard the birds,

then she opened them, turned toward them

and smiled

what a gift, what love, what joy

meanwhile

Arlo gets to spend a lot of time now with grandpa

grandpa is his favorite person

Miss Emily on her way to ballet class tonight

looks like Jova is going to hit the Pacific coast of Mexico

near Barra de Navidad

right next to my friends in La Manzanilla on Tenacatita Bay

our town, Cuyutlan is just a little south of Manzanillo

still in the red zone

friends in Punta Mita and Las Palmas are in the yellow zone near Vallarta

it is so strange to be here knowing what is happening there

or knowing just enough to be concerned but not being able to do anything about it

I have heard from friends that several small towns on the coast are being evacuated

there are only small towns between Manzanillo and Puerto Vallarta

haven't heard much from Cuyutlan.

hope we find out more tomorrow and that all is well

wow!  holy crap!

I have been worried about Florida getting a hurricane

and one is about to hit the west coast of Mexico

looks like it is coming right for the state of Colima

Fort Myers is a city and I love the houses in the old downtown section

$18,000 in Fort Myers just sold

$19,000 in Port Charlotte

$19,000 in Fort Myers, this one is not from the downtown section though

$24,000 in Fort Myers, this one is

$24,000 in Punta Gorda

this is a large house on our side of the Peace river in an old part of town

2 blocks from the river and the whole river front is a park there, it's nice

$28,000 near Beth

nice neighborhood near the bay

$30,000 in Fort Myers

I have a fetish for fireplaces in old houses

$36,300 in East Englewood, near us

$40,000 in North Fort Myers

$45,000 Englewood, 2 miles to the beach

I have a pool fetish too

this was my favorite one that got me checking out that old downtown neighborhood

in Fort Myers, just missed it, it sold for $40,000 I think

I get nothing out of this but the sheer (not shear, thanks Susan)

pleasure of looking at these great old houses

and marveling how affordable they are now

and thinking how nice it would be to see my friends this winter......
