Museo de Antropologia
Mexico City
other worldly - literally
we saw so many wonderful things
I have tried to pick out only the most interesting
so as not to bore you
it was truly like entering another world
it was human scale
the colors were amazing
I thought these were so cool
the actual little paint trays they used
the colored pottery was still so vibrant
and so detailed
our friends waited patiently
we couldn't have done it without them
the beautiful detail behind them
something wonderful about these little figures
look at the detail in this tiny figure
not sure what these tiny beds were....
very interesting pottery
check out the legs
these are life size copies of original cave paintings
in Baja
I have always wanted to see them and it was very powerful standing under them
this is a piece of ancient fabric
loved these bowls
so simple and yet so elegant
after the museo we were so beat
we tried to go to the park (that's it on the right)
but the teachers strike (that's them on the left)
closed down the park - imagine Chapultepec Park closed!
almost like trying to go to a National Park in the US these last few weeks
to be continued.....
That museum is so totally amazing. The guards are unobtrusive and make you feel comfortable strolling around the displays.
ReplyDeleteguards? were there guards?
DeleteD, many years ago I went to this fabulous museum and was, like you, overwhelmed by its beauty and bounty. After about 4 hours my poor brain was scrambled. Such riches. Loving reading all this about your trip. Deep into museums myself, here in beautiful Paris!
ReplyDeleteah and we are loving your posts from Paris!!
